This is for all media. I’m going to keep this relatively short. Whether you are a private individual that is active on social media, a publicly traded corporation, YouTube channel, or a web publisher like me. I ask you to dedicate some time or space to the climate crisis until it is no longer a crisis. If you are any kind of business and have any kind of media presence, like your website, please post something.
According to an article in Nature and this MSNBC article, there is overwhelming support for measures to address the climate crisis. It seems that producing such content would be popular with most audiences.
If you have a website, add something to your interface visible on all or most of your site. Preferably post link(s) to content with actionable items for your target audience. If you don’t have the time or inclination to create something yourself, link to somebody else’s page. I am going to post such a page within a few days.
Even small operations like this one have the attention of thousands of people in a month. Even if you are a small niche site like this one, you have a lot of influence. It will make a difference.
You can even post affiliate links if you want, because sometimes something as small as product choices can make a difference. Here are some content ideas:
- Products that are better than the alternatives regarding environmental impact. They often save people money and are more enjoyable to use.
- Simple actions anyone can do.
- How to persuade local government officials to take action.
- News regarding the climate crisis.
- Actions specific to your niche or target audience.
- Any action with benefits beyond reducing emissions. E.g. walking instead of driving also improves health.
This is just my opinion, but I think climate content would be popular after reading the aforementioned articles. If you have any kind of audience or influence, please use it to help address this crisis so our children will inherit a world better than ours. Let’s plant trees we may never sit under. Even better, let’s ensure there are trees at all.
